Sources of resistance identified for Cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus in squash germplasm

Whitefly-transmitted Cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus (CCYV) is a serious threat to summer squash production in the Southeastern U.S. Researchers at the University of Georgia performed greenhouse trials to verify promising germplasm identified from field studies. Two accessions that showed reduced symptom development and virus accumulation hold promise as sources of resistance for breeding.
