  • In Central Florida, Cucurbit leaf crumple virus (CuLCrV) incidence is very low.
  • In Southwest Florida, CuLCrV, Squash Vein Yellowing Virus (SqVYV) and Cucurbit Yellow Stunting Disorder Virus (CYSDV) were diagnosed by the UF/IFAS Plant Pathologist at  SWFREC. All of these were observed in older watermelon fields.

  • In Southwest Florida,Gummy stem blight (Didymella bryoniae) was reported on watermelons, overall level is moderate to low, yet it is increasing.

  • In Central Florida, reports indicate incidence of Cucurbit downy mildew (Pseudoperonospora cubensis) is increasing.
    In Southwest Florida: Very low infestation levels were reported by several field scouts.
