Symptoms were small, irregular blotches or bleached areas on the older leaves. Crops with injury included cucumber, melons, and squash. Symptoms were caused by an abiotic agent and not a plant pathogen.

Extension Agents in South Carolina provide weekly updates about specialty crop conditions across the state. In the Midlands region of S.C. agents report that “squash is flowering with an early fruit set, along with zucchini. Cucumbers, cantaloupes, and watermelons are all developing well with vines running”.
