To better understand if spore trapping is a useful tool to better predict risk of these diseases, spore trapping networks have been deployed in Kent and Norfolk counties this year. Researchers use spore traps to monitor cucurbit downy mildew in Kent and Norfolk counties.
Spore traps were installed the week of June 7, 2021. Positive detections were made at 7 sites in Norfolk county:
- August 5-9: 3 detections
- August 9-12: 4 detections
- August 12-16: 4 detections
- August 16-19: 4 detections
- August 19-23: 0 detections
