Stakeholder Advisory Board Cucurbit Crop Curators External Evaluators Key stakeholders for the CucCAP project are: cucurbit growers, shippers and processors; seed companies that develop cucurbit cultivars; and the scientific community that develops new knowledge that will lead to improved cultivars. We are appreciative of the support and advice provided by the CucCAP Stakeholder Advisory Board […]
Grumet et al.
R. Grumet is the lead PI for the USDA-SCRI CucCAP project: CucCAP: Leveraging applied genomics to increase disease resistance in cucurbit crops. The primary objectives of the CucCAP project are to develop genomic and bioinformatic breeding tool kits for accelerated crop improvement across the Cucurbitaceae; use these tools to facilitate introgression of disease resistance into commercially valuable cucurbit cultivars; and provide readily accessible information to facilitate disease control.

About Us
Introduction The cucurbit community has initiated a U.S.D.A.-funded cucurbit genomics project: CucCAP, Leveraging applied genomics to increase disease resistance in cucurbit crops. Genomic and breeding efforts will be complemented by a centralized cucurbit disease website with content in English and Spanish. This site provides diagnostic information, disease control recommendations, disease alerts, and links to disease clinics […]

CucCAP Project Objectives
Each objective includes integrated research and extension/outreach [E/O] approaches: Obj. 1. Develop genomic approaches and tools for cucurbit species. Develop genomic and bioinformatic platforms for: genotyping by sequencing (GBS); sequence data processing and analysis; and genotype, phenotype and QTL databases Perform GBS analysis of PI collections and core populations of the four species to provide […]
