CucCAP scientists examine embryo rescue as approach to increase diversity in cucurbit crops

Embryo rescue is a breeding approach that can facilitate hybridization between related species and allow breeders to introduce novel traits to improve disease resistance, yield and quality. In a recent review Dr. Umesh Reddy and colleagues at West Virginia State University describe the principles, applications, and recent advancements in embryo rescue technology to promote crop improvement in cucurbit species.
