North Florida Watermelon Plants Impacted by Sub-Freezing Temperatures

Sub-freezing temperatures impacted North Florida’s newly planted watermelons. It is estimated that about 5,000 acres of the 7,000 acres normally produced in the Suwannee Valley were already planted. Specialists from the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) expain the impact of this event.
