Downy mildew on cucumber was reported on May 31 in Charleston County, SC and less than a week later CDM was reported in NC. Plant pathologists at NC State University identified the pathogen, Pseudoperonospora cubensis, with a disease incidence of around 5% in Sampson County, North Carolina on June 4, 2024. Cucurbit growers can report downy mildew outbreaks on the Cucurbit Downy mildew IPMpipe website.
