Michigan vegetable crop report – June 8, 2022
Michigan Vegetable specialists discuss the planting of squash, slicing cucumbers, watermelons, muskmelons, pumpkins, hard squash, and pickling cucumbers across the state.
Pests discussed include Phytophthora crown and fruit rot (Phytophthora capsici) and striped cucumber beetles.

Striped cucumber beetle is out and active in some west central locations. Pre-bloom is a nice time to use broad-spectrum insecticides without hurting bees. Image by MSU Extension.
